ever notice how Narcissists always are over exaggerate everything, how they perceive a course of events that never happened that way, they also exaggerate their abilities and skill sets which never match their actual knowledge or real ability. If you call them out they will call you jealous. its amazing the extent of their exaggerations, which are essentially lies.a sliver of truth they can turn into a major exaggeration to the wildest extent. these people have no semblance of honesty and decency.

I know what you mean. I've known three narcissists in my life. One told of heroic tales, which I knew were false. It's hard to understand why they act this way. Maybe some of them crave attention and want to inflate their egos.

it has to do with a self inflation of their shallow ego to make others believe they are actually better than they appear, dealing with narcissistic family they have the golden child who they falsely inflate with praise and they can do it all better than anyone skill sets that really dont exist so they dont go off with a narc rage attack just because they cannot just say this maybe above my wheelhouse, the thing is they actually lie to people about this, and they many people believing these lies and following along with the false narrative, a pied piper of lies.

Check out black and white thinking in the Top Traits. Or else it's called all or nothing thinking, similar thing. Narcissistic folks don't really do nuance. They are very immature thinkers, which makes sense. And paired with grandiosity, you get these outrageous self-inflating statements

im coming from a narc family dynamic where im the scapegoated child(can do anything right, cannot fix anything, breaks things etc etc) this is all done by design to denegrate and break the non-follower of the toxic family behavior(punishment shall now ensue till we break you) and the golden child who's had heaps of praise lavished on them when in reality most of what they do and are all about is not true, basically the head narc of the household has created a new monster in their image to go out into the world and destroy, the toxic cycle continues and most in the outside world dont see it and go along with it not knowing anything about narcissism.

Yeah.

It is why I always feel I need to be superhonest and tell everyone my real me, including vulnerabilities. I wanted to purge myself of all they taught me.

It's really stupid when still in fight with a manipulator though. He shows everyone a front of the perfect person. I of someone real, with emotions and flaws. People often prefer fake perfect. Especially in court.
