I'm only about halfway through it but I'm surprised by the strong impression it's making on me. It's not the best-written thing ever, but the ideas being expressed are super interesting. It's using the setting of an intervention camp for addicted young people to discuss how to heal conflict in relationships and live as a peaceful person in the world, even when we disagree. It's pretty easy to read and the ideas are broken down in a way that's not hard to understand. I sometimes have trouble focusing on nonfiction but the fact that this is written as a series of extended conversations is helpful.
"Being humanitarian, being kind and loving, does not include entrusting my life or well-being to anyone whose intention or unconscious direction is to cause me harm. I am here to enjoy the life that Mother Earth gave me." ~ Ellen Jean Zoltak
