This book was recommended to me over on the aging care forum, where I spend a lot of time now that my BPDm has dementia. Liz was raised by a single, BPD diagnosed mother. The memoir starts with her childhood experiences (I'm about half way through) and extends to trying to deal with a BPD mother with dementia along with processing her own childhood and untangling her mother's lies.

So far I'm really captivated by this book, will return to let you know how I feel when I finish it.

I finished the book yesterday. Frankly I skipped the middle part of the book as it didn't deal extensively with the authors mother but boy did the last third get right back down to business. She really details the absolutely maddening business of dealing with a mentally incompetent personality disordered parent and the legal limits when it comes to making decisions on a parents behalf. Her mother ended up very briefly in a homeless shelter due to her inability to pay the rent and her absolute unwillingness to admit to a problem. This book was extremely valuable to me and i recommend it to anyone dealing with an elderly PD parent.
