as the saying goes with narcissists: (No good deed goes unpunished) my narc moms outside wooden tool shed full of years and years of hoarded junk that my narc brother has stored in there that was mostly picked up on the side of the road someone else's junk. so what unfortunately happened was a tree from an adjoining property fell on the shed crushing it and all the junk was smashed, along with a fence, clothesline. Anyways i took control over contacting the homeowners insurance for her, and also contacting the adjoining property owners (it was a tree on their property) as she just would sit there peppering me with abuse all the way. So in the end after the tree was removed today and monetary compensation will be all be paid by the other property owners insurance not hers, and still all and all this S O B*tch still harassed and ridiculed everything i had done to get this issue resolved for her, these people are so toxic and nasty behind closed doors never in full view of the outside world, because normal people would definetly judge their horrific behavior and call them out. I guess i should have know better then to try in help these pathetic excuses for a human being at all, they truly deserve all misery they heap on others, eventually they will get their just deserves from a higher power than me.

I'm sorry JR.   Let her rant....just don't be the one she rants to.   I'm seeing, in my own parents, that they don't have the emotional capacity of a 8yr old on a good day....and a toddler in times of stress.   Her behaving nicely, which is obviously not in her rep, is beyond your control.   It absolutely sucks.

You did so much to support her in a trying time.   That is admirable.   You're a good person to do that...especially knowing that she might not have the emotional intelligence to do the right thing.

I think they parentify us SO well.   They've created the perfect child to support them...emotionally...physically...etc.  And as we start adulting more, we become the safe place.   We're expected to be the patient parent who handles the tantrum in the grocery store.

I'm so sorry.  I've watching my mother turn into a toddler many a time.   Hang in there.
