Hi so I got discarded by a 30 year bestie last summer. We never had one fight. I know he acquired a heavier drinking issue so it's hard to know but think he's a covert. He triangulated me to a mutual friend who them gaslight me about therapy. I was completely Blindsided.
It a hard situation because I lost a ex and found out two months prior to this but from alcohol too so maybe chicken before egg but his overreacting over a behavior he knows and everyone knows about was shocked to get tossed away like garbage for calling him a flake he is he's always been.

i'm so sorry your friend of that long discarded you in a time where you would need more support from them, and it makes total sense that after losing someone to alcoholism, you'd be more worried about someone you've had in your close circle for such a long time.

I literally was just talking to someone IRL about a work friendship where I had opened up and it left me REELING after they came at me hissing about a project we had worked on TOGETHER with them having full knowledge of what the outcome would be IF we succeeded, bc she was MAD we succeeded and I don't know quite how to process it other than sometimes we only get ONE BIG RED FLAG and I won't be as quick to confide in them about ANYTHING moving forward.

this is the section to the part of the forum where folks can discuss work/personal connections gone awry bc of possible PD.  Friends, Neighbors, Acquaintances and Coworkers  I need to get myself over there and post a MAJOR update to my own situation.

again, I am so sorry the discard hit when you really need extra support from someone who knows you at that level.  take care and be gentle with yourself today.
