I read this article today about how relying on AI as your therapist may actually be very dangerous! AI is a tool but it's also a tool that prioritizes keeping you using it, which like social media a chatbot ultimately endlessly mirrors the user. And if there's something not healthy there, it can get simply amplified instead of aided. Sharing because this topic has come up on the forum before, with people posting AI generated advice etc. The article doesn't address trauma specifically, but I agree with the generally accepted notion that relational trauma needs to be healed in relationships. AI doesn't count for that.

Thank you. The AI conversation society needs to have is SO much bigger than the one we're having currently. I hope people take these risks to heart and use AI wisely if at all.

I agree wholeheartedly.  I can see the attraction.  It's so accessible, free, and will tend to always validate and never challenge you.  But I have had concerns about it for many reasons, and using it as a replacement for therapy is very scary indeed. 

I have even gotten emails from some "coaches" promoting their programs which rely heavily on AI, and I'm like "Nope", "Delete".

Here's a pretty scary one. Take with grain of salt, maybe, but still. This issue is worth paying attention to.
