WhoAmI?

Hi,

I hope at least a few recognize the lyrics in the Subject. :)

This is my first post. I'm not sure what to say except, "I spent 23 years with a Covert Narcissist and I desperately need someone to hear me, to see me; someone who understands."

It's been 4 years since I ended the relationship and I am still coming Out of the FOG, still trying to reconcile the reality of what I've been through - and how it has broken me, and still trying to figure out where to start, how to understand the impact, and how to heal.

I'm fairly certain that anyone reading this understands.

Can you help me start my journey of healing?

Hi WhoAmI,

Welcome! I hope you will have the chance to check out the Chosen Relationships section of the forum to read the stories of others who have been through troubled relationships. And that when you feel comfortable you will share more of your story.

All the best to you.
"Being humanitarian, being kind and loving, does not include entrusting my life or well-being to anyone whose intention or unconscious direction is to cause me harm. I am here to enjoy the life that Mother Earth gave me." ~ Ellen Jean Zoltak

welcome to the group @WhoAmI?

some folks share here on the welcome mat, some folks share in the part of the forum that aligns the most with their journey- there is no right or wrong place, we only ask that people not post multiple copies of the same post in different areas of the forum.

I know for me the healing process gets frustrating at times, especially when stuff comes up that triggers me-  I just have to remember to be kind/ patient with myself and remind myself that healing/recovery isn't a linear process.  I feel like my trauma is a shadow and it's always there behind me, sometimes more evident then others.

be gentle with yourself today and we hope to see you on the boards soon.
