I'm gonna try to be quick. It's mom again, of course. So, one subject is dragging me through uni, its chemistry, i try so hard for two years now and still no results and still struggling, which mom doesnt excuse. Well it's known that the professors are a bit too much too, many colleagues are struggling along, so i told her its mostly the professors.

Anyway, i took the final yesterday again for the fifth time, got results 2 hours after, failed. Emailed the professor, asked to see the test and so I will go friday. I was sure that I wrote at least enough to get a passing grade, which i told mom too cause honestly, i cant escape her at all with anything, she digs too much. My business, my responsibility, but she still digs in. If i dont comply, she goes feral and does anything to find out. Anyways, she insists on coming with me friday, wants me to record the conversation I'll have, so she'll know if its me or the professor's problem. Well im sure its both, but i really dont want her knowing and coming with me. So, i can go see the prof on friday 10am, one hour drive. Is it wise of me to not wake her up that day, go earlier to avoid her and not record it? I know she'll be furious cause i went against her and know im hiding something but I really want to put a stop on her trying to know every detail and sh*t. Will it make things worse or should I just take action already?

Please do not let her come with you and do not comply with her demands! You are an adult; she has no right to know your grades and your private conversations with your professors. This is control and abuse. You might think that by giving in you will appease her, but she will never be happy with anything. The only way out of this is to get away from her (as soon as you are able) and protect yourself and your privacy. Lie to keep her off your back. You don't owe her anything.

Do not let her come with you.   You are an adult.  You, and only you, have to deal with the consequences.

To quote someone you know, you're a grown up and a woman, you should know how to do these things.

From my experience, this would be frowned upon by the professor for your mother to be present.  Even in high school, my kids' teachers wanted them to start self-advocating and for parents to start to back off.  In college, this should already be the norm.  Blame it on your professor or school policy if you think you need an excuse, but either way, don't let her come.  Just tell her no, and let her sit with her hissy fit.

Yeah! Your mum cannot be there unless you specifically ask for her and say it's ok for her to be there. Moreover, professors can (and in my opinion should) refuse to talk to parents about their adult children's grades/attendance etc. I am always concerned and fear abuse when parents want to interfere with their adult children's studies.
