July 8th of this year I set the intention, after waking up, to dissolve a 34 year trauma bond with someone that ticks all the boxes for being, well, sick, very sick. I spent 30 years healing from the childhood trauma, and tending ancestral wounds, then came to an understanding, that I was doing the work in a relationship container that was inflicting more harm. It was terrifying to leave, and a girlfriend came to pick me up. I had packed everything up, my lifework as an artists and books mostly, and walked away from it all not being able to make sense out of paying for storage as I stepped into "homelessness". It was not a legal partnership, and there is no common law in this state where I am, and I am flowing forward with no financial support, which is a form of abuse in and of itself. In the present moment, I'm just observing the heart pain and am coming out of a gaslit flashback. I am out of the country traveling for a bit, then will try a stretch of live/work for 3 months through WWOOFing. My best friend is letting me use her living room as a remaking life space. It is a lot to process at the age of 66, and I guess we work through all the layers don't we. This is a really really really hard process and I think the notion to dip into my personal savings and travel was a good choice of medicine for me. To fill life up with wonder and have moments alone in my hotel room to simply witness and feel what needs to be witnessed and felt. The 30 years of trauma work on other issues I suppose created a tool kit that is helping me navigate this. Thank you for listening, I look forward to learning from those who get it.

I'm here to encourage you Aunty. You can do it. I know the emotional pain at times continues to feel unbearable, but you did it, you left, and this time, you will not be hoovered back in. I believe in you.

Hi aunty! Welcome to Out of the FOG and to a healing chapter in your life. It takes a great deal of courage to step out and believe that there is better for you and to rebuild your life as you are doing.

I am thankful you have found this supportive group of people and look forward to hearing more from you when you are ready to share!
The most powerful people are peaceful people.

The truth will set you free if you believe it.

Just want to add my welcome! I also left after 3+ decades and it took me at least two years if not longer to snap Out of the FOG. Looking forward to your story.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.
