With my SIL coming, DH thought I should know about his mother's response to my note that I forgive her but not interested in starting over. Because surely SIL knows about it. 

All right, you wish to tell me, and I suppose I have no objection to hearing it. You know it will change nothing as far as I'm concerned and this will not be a topic of conversation with SIL.

MIL is happy I forgive her, and she understands I don't want HER to come visit, but that's no reason my father-in-law shouldn't come see us!

That's just delusional. The man who never accepted me and then wrote me off because I wouldn't apologize to him when he had been rude to me even longer ago than NC with MIL. Ooooookay...

Call Me Cordelia - how gracious and big of her to let you/your husband know there is no reason for your fil to come visit! (Sarcasm  )

What strikes me is the posture that she is calling any shots whatsoever about your lives.
