  hi im new here. I've been married for eight years . This is my second marriage and met my second husband online at age 41. I'm suffering with trying to figure out if I'm the one with the issue. I've been a victim of awful verbal abuse. I blamed myself for years. I just want some advice .

I think almost every person i've interacted with here on the forum has blamed themselves for being 'the problem' (myself including) as well as spending countless hours trying to fix themselves in order to try to make abusive behaviors stop from the other party in the relationship.


you are not alone.  breathe.  let the knowledge sit that you are not in control of their behaviors, you did not cause their behaviors and you can't fix them.  all you can do is control how you respond.  the  members can talk you through situations, help you determine which boundaries you can set that will help protect your peace, and help you in what ever course you decide to take on the journey to getting yourself back.
